Role-playing in workshops

I think most people are often skeptical of using role-play because they think it's for kids. It's true, I loved to role-play as a kid but I'm finding it very useful in gaining insights during user testing workshops. Giving people a prompt and even props allows them to instantly relax and makes the workshop feel less rigid.

Even more, I've seen that role-play often brings out insights because people don't have to "be themselves" and then can explore and say things that could be very authentic and useful.  I'm excited to do a workshop around role-play at SBCC, and I hope some of you who are interested will read my blog on it: bit.ly/RolePlayUT.
